INFORMATION SECURITY BASIC POLICY

Kongo Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "the Company") is committed to protecting the information assets entrusted to us by our customers from threats such as accidents, disasters, and crimes. In order to earn the trust of our customers and society, we will implement information security measures across the entire company based on the following policies.

  1. 1.Responsibility of Management
    The Company will strive to systematically and continuously improve and enhance information security under the leadership of management.
  2. 2.Establishment of Internal Systems
    The Company will establish an organization dedicated to maintaining and improving information security and define information security measures as official internal regulations.
  3. 3.Employee Commitment
    Employees of the Company will acquire the necessary knowledge and skills for information security and ensure a strong commitment to its implementation.
  4. 4.Compliance with Legal and Contractual Requirements
    The Company will comply with laws, regulations, standards, and contractual obligations related to information security while also meeting customer expectations.
  5. 5.Response to Violations and Incidents
    In the event of a legal or contractual violation or an information security incident, the Company will take appropriate action and strive to prevent recurrence.

KONGO`S INITIATIVES

Kongo Co., Ltd. believes that protecting and promoting the health and safety of its employees, as well as creating a comfortable working environment for each individual, is essential for the company's sustainable growth. We are committed to further promoting "health management."

Kongo Co., Ltd. has been certified as a "2024 Health & Productivity Management Outstanding Organization (SME Category)" by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.

On March 11, 2024, we received certification from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry as a "2024 Health & Productivity Management Outstanding Organization" in the SME category. This marks our second consecutive year of certification.

The Health & Productivity Management Outstanding Organization Certification Program is a system that recognizes corporations that practice exceptional health management based on initiatives addressing local health issues and the health promotion efforts recommended by the Japan Health Conference.

Kongo Co., Ltd. upholds the corporate philosophy of "Contributing to social culture through security and innovation" and is committed to achieving this goal through the joint efforts of its management and all employees.
To accomplish this, it is essential that our employees maintain both physical and mental well-being and have an environment where they can work with vitality every day.

Initiatives for Health Promotion

Initiatives for Health Promotion

In collaboration with industrial physicians and the Japan Health Insurance Association (Kyokai Kenpo), and with the support of health promotion representatives at each business site and the Safety and Health Committee, we formulate health-related initiatives under the above organizational structure. Based on the results, we continuously work on improvements.

Other Initiatives for Health Promotion

We have made a "Health Star Declaration" with the Kumamoto Branch of the Japan Health Insurance Association.In the 2024 Health Star Certification, we have been recognized with a "Two-Star" rating.

Additionally, we are participating as a "Project Supporter" in Kumamoto Prefecture's "Kumamoto Smart Life Project."

※ The Kumamoto Smart Life Project is an initiative in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare's "Smart Life Project," aiming to promote an active, healthy, and enjoyable daily life.

INITIATIVES FOR SDGs

Kongo Co., Ltd. is registered under the 1st phase of the"Kumamoto Prefecture SDGs Registration System."

By promoting SDGs initiatives within our corporate activities, we aim to contribute to regional revitalization that leverages Kumamoto’s unique characteristics and, ultimately, to making a positive impact on the planet as a socially responsible entity.

Kongo Co., Ltd. is the first Kumamoto Prefecture SDGs registered business.

What are the SDGs?

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are international goals set to achieve a sustainable and better world by 2030. They were adopted unanimously by all member states at the United Nations Summit in September 2015 as part of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, succeeding the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) established in 2001.
The SDGs consist of 17 goals and 169 targets and pledge to "leave no one behind" on Earth. These goals are universal, applying not only to developing countries but also requiring active engagement from developed nations. Japan is also proactively working towards achieving these goals.

  1. 1.Initiatives in Sales Activities
    Through the sale of products that contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of storage facilities and storage doors in cultural institutions (such as museums and art galleries), we are committed to the protection and preservation of cultural assets. Additionally, by supporting the inheritance of cultural assets and promoting the utilization of related information in education, tourism, and social culture, we actively contribute to the revitalization of local culture.
  2. 2.Initiatives in Manufacturing Facilities
    We strive to enhance the quality of products, goods, and services to ensure customer satisfaction while paying special attention to air quality and the management of general and other waste to reduce the environmental impact of our factories. By reviewing materials, product structures, and functions and optimizing system functionality, we aim to achieve a 5% reduction in CO₂ emissions from transportation, resource usage, and electricity consumption.
  3. 3.Initiatives in Work Style
    We are committed to reforming work styles to adapt to the New Normal era and creating a work environment that respects the rights of all employees, regardless of nationality, disability, or gender. We promote a safe and secure workplace for all employees by balancing employee needs and satisfaction with corporate growth. Key initiatives include:

    ・Encouraging male employees to take parental leave
    ・Promoting telework

Basic Environmental Policy

Kongo Co., Ltd. places the utmost priority on environmental consideration in all business activities, striving to reduce environmental impact proactively. Through these efforts, we aim to enhance the overall well-being of society and contribute to the realization of a sustainable society.

Environmental Action Guidelines

  1. 1.Compliance with Environmental Laws and Regulations
    We comply with all relevant environmental laws, regulations, and other requirements, and strive to preserve the global environment and prevent pollution.
  2. 2.Setting and Reviewing Environmental Objectives
    We accurately assess the environmental impacts of our business activities and, within the scope of technical and economic feasibility, set improvement objectives and targets. We establish and implement an environmental management program and regularly review its progress.
  3. 3.Addressing Climate Change and Contributing to a Circular Economy
    Taking into account technical and economic conditions and environmental impacts, we contribute to climate change mitigation and the formation of a circular economy by effectively utilizing resources and reducing greenhouse gas emissions through the following initiatives:
    1 )Efficient use of natural resources such as water and efforts to reduce consumption through resource-saving measures.
    2 )Promotion of the introduction of energy-saving equipment and the use of renewable energy to conserve resources.
    3 )Efficient use of energy resources such as electricity and gas.
    4 )Reduction of waste and appropriate disposal to lower environmental impact.
    5 )Promotion of recycling activities and resource recovery.
    6 )Reduction of CO₂ emissions through the promotion of modal shifts and eco-driving practices.
  4. 4.Promotion of Environmentally Friendly Manufacturing
    We are committed to developing and offering products that incorporate environmentally friendly materials and are designed to conserve power.
  5. 5.Collaboration with Stakeholders
    We actively engage and collaborate with all stakeholders, including employees, customers, business partners, and local communities, by disclosing environmental information and deepening mutual understanding through dialogue.
  6. 6.Promotion of Environmental Education
    We promote environmental education to raise awareness among employees and empower them to take proactive action on environmental issues.

INITIATIVES FOR EcoVadis EVALUATION

Kongo Co., Ltd. has been awarded the "Commitment Badge" in the 2024 sustainability assessment conducted by EcoVadis (headquartered in France).

EcoVadis evaluates the sustainability of companies based on its unique criteria across four key areas: "Environment," "Labor & Human Rights," "Ethics," and "Sustainable Procurement." The assessment covers over 100,000 companies across 200 industries in approximately 175 countries.

With this evaluation as a reference, we will continue to strive for further growth as a company that contributes to the sustainable development of society.
